Christopher French is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from the coast of Northern California. As a teenage guitarist he started experimenting with a 4-track tape machine (considered lo-fi or vintage by today’s standards) then went on to spend his formative years touring and recording with alternative rock bands.
After attending the Musician’s Institute for Recording Engineering in Los Angeles, he began expanding his mastery of recording and composition. More recently, as well as composing scores for Film & TV, he founded alternative rock band Annie Automatic, attended Berklee College of Music for Film Scoring & Orchestration, and released a new album of experimental electronic music in the beginning of 2018.
With a uniquely diverse list of scoring credits to date he’s had the invaluable opportunity, early in his career, to hone his instincts in a wide variety of genres. Recent scoring credits include the Duplass Brothers’ HBO doc-series “On Tour with Asperger’s Are Us” & their feature film ‘Unlovable’, Charles Vuolo’s ‘Lupe’, documentaries 'Two If By Sea', ‘Non-Binary’ & ‘The Human Trial’, and Seasons 1 - 5 of the TV comedy ‘Young & Hungry’.
